March Coming In With a Win! And Vegas WSOP booked!

Poker

I finished 10th in The Hunter on Global Poker on Monday.  I bubbled the same tournament on Wednesday, finishing 28th.  Always frustrating to be the bubble.  It'll be a spot I will review as it was JJ preflop vs. KK.  I raised, villain shoved, and I called.  I was over 10 big blinds deep so I could have waited for the min cash of around 9.5 SC, but my initial thought is it was a spot for a big double to setup a deep run to the final table and ultimately a win.  Yes we want to cash, but I think the opportunity to run deep far outweighs a min cash at the 11SC level.

On Saturday I heard that Global Poker was ending their stream for the time being.  I enjoy watching all of them and have learned quite a bit from each of them.  It was a big reason why I picked up poker again during the pandemic and have stuck with it and challenged myself to improve.  So it is bittersweet to see it ending.  My hope is it'll be back at some point or at least several of them still broadcast on Twitch.  Maybe I should at some point?

That night I ended up winning the final streamer game!  It was a crazy pineapple format which I had never played online.  It was also the first win in awhile!

We finished the month of February up.  January was also a green month.  So we're off to a great start to 2026.  The short term goal is to put in plenty of study volume and slowly build up the roll.  I'll start compiling and posting details going forward as I find my footing and what I want this to be.

I also booked a long weekend in Vegas to play some WSOP events.  It'll be my first ever poker heavy trip out there.  I do not get the opportunity to play live very often at the moment so can't wait.  I would love a WSOP cash.

This week I'll probably be playing PokerGo events on Global.

Investing & Finance

The markets had another turbulent week and earnings from some big players including Nvidia.  I have been spending the last several weeks consolidating several positions into 5 core holdings.  I cut out several unprofitable small cap companies where my thesis on them no longer fit in the current market.

The five companies I am building around include Nvidia, Amazon, Crowdstrike, Uber, and Cloudflare.  I'll do a deep dive into each of these in future posts.  Nvidia is already a full position as I've been in the stock at various levels for several years.  Amazon I had an existing position but have aggressively built it up after it has retreated from it's highs in the 250s.  Rest are new positions I'll be building out.

Have an awesome week!
